  • A Grand Day Out (1990)

    A Grand Day Out (1990)

The very first in the series of Nick Park's claymations which introduced the world to everyone's favourite man and his dog. After running out of cheese, Wallace decides to build a space rocket and take a trip to the moon with Gromit because, as the eccentric inventor says, "everybody knows the moon is made of cheese." The short was nominated for an Oscar for Best Animated Short Film in 1990 but, unfortunately, it lost. What film could possibly have trumped A Grand Day Out we hear you ask? Only another little gem called Creature Comforts, also made by Park and released in the same year!

  • The Wrong Trousers (1993)

    The Wrong Trousers (1993)

The Oscar-winning second outing for Wallace and his canine companion. After presenting Gromit with a pair of "ex-NASA" robotic Techno Trousers so that he doesn't have to take him for bothersome walks, Wallace welcomes a mysterious penguin named Feathers McGraw into their home as their new lodger. But there's something suspicious about Feathers and our hapless heroes are about to become embroiled in a bizarre jewellery heist.

  • A Close Shave (1995)

    A Close Shave (1995)

Wallace has a whirlwind romance with Wendolene Ramsbottom, the proprietor of the local wool shop, but Wendolene's sinister dog, Preston, is up to something shady and Gromit gets into a whole heap of trouble when he starts to investigate. This 1995 Oscar-winning short introduced Shaun the Sheep, a character that proved so popular that he got his own spin-off BBC series and a hit movie.

  • A Matter of Loaf and Death (2008)

A Matter of Loaf and Death (2008)

In the last Wallace and Gromit adventure for Peter Sallis before his retirement, Wallace and his canny canine have opened a new bakery business, but local bakers are being targeted by a mysterious assassin and Gromit must solve the case before Wallace ends up being a victim himself. The film first aired on Christmas Day in 2008 and was the most watched programme in the UK for that entire year.
