About Sorry!

Ronnie Corbett simply can't escape his overbearing mother in this 1980s sitcom.

Sorry!

Ronnie Corbett is Timothy Lumsden, a 40-something librarian who still lives at home with his mother Phyllis and henpecked father Sidney.

He longs to find a girlfriend and leave home but is constantly manipulated by his mother, who finds countless ways to stop him fleeing the nest.

Timothy's sister and friend Frank do their best to encourage him to get out but they are no match for battleaxe Phyllis.

Sorry! originally ran on BBC One for seven series between 1981 and 1988.

The sitcom was created for Ronnie Corbett by two of the writers of The Two Ronnies and it spawned the popular catchphrase "Language Timothy!"
