Six years after The Good Life, writers Bob Larbey and John Esmonde and actor Richard Briers reunited to produce this gem of a comedy, albeit with a much darker tone. In what he said what his favourite sitcom role, Briers plays Martin Bryce, a not particularly likeable character who fancies himself as an important community leader in a quiet suburb. But Martin's self-imposed rule is threatened when the confident and charismatic Paul moves in next door.
