1. NAME OF COMPETITION:

"GOLD's Christmas Cracker Competition 2021" (the "Competition"). The judging panel will be looking for the most original festive jokes that put a comedy twist on the news agenda or pop culture over the last year.

2. METHOD OF ENTRY & COMPETITION TERMS:

Entry is free of charge via Twitter at @goldchannel.

To enter via Twitter, the entrant must follow the @goldchannel Twitter account, then tweet their original Christmas cracker joke (the "Joke") via their personal Twitter handle, including the hashtag #GoldCrackers in their tweet entry (each an "Entry").

The Joke must be Christmas themed and suitable for a family audience. It must be no longer than 280 characters.

Entries without #GoldCrackers will not count as an Entry.

The Competition will be open between 08.00 Monday 4th October 2021 to 23.59 Monday 18th October 2021 inclusive (the "Competition Period").

3. SPECIFIC RESTRICTIONS:

All entrants must be over 18 years of age at the date of Entry and resident in the UK. Multiple entries will be accepted. Employees of UKTV, the Prize Provider named below and their immediate families are not eligible to enter the Competition. Any entries received outside of the Competition Period (for whatever reason) will be invalid.

Any entry that is unclear, incomplete, defaced, corrupt, illegal or misdirected will not be accepted. UKTV accepts no responsibility for lost entries, and proof of transmission entry will not be accepted as proof of receipt.

UKTV accepts no liability for any invalid, incomplete entries or entries not received by UKTV. No 'bots' or similar automated third party software will be allowed and anyone found using such software will disqualified. Any alternative entrants will be selected according to these terms and conditions.

By submitting the Entry to UKTV the entrant is declaring that it is their own original work, they are the creator of it (or have the creator's permission to submit it, with a copy of any such written permission to be supplied on request) and that the original work does not infringe the rights of any other party. The entrant agrees to fully indemnify UKTV against any actual or threatened claims or actions UKTV may be subject to in relation to your Entry.

Entries must not contain anything that could be viewed as indecent, inappropriate, defamatory, unlawful, offensive or represent a danger to health and safety. Any entry that is found, at any time, to breach these T&C's or that otherwise contains prohibited, inappropriate or unlawful content as determined by UKTV, in its sole discretion, will be disqualified. UKTV shall have the right to remove an Entry from any and all online platforms at their discretion.

4. WINNER SELECTION:

After the close of the Competition Period, a judging panel led by comedy critic Bruce Dessau that includes at least one independent judge, will shortlist the funniest, most festive, modern Jokes between the 25th October 2021 and 2th November 2021. 40 shortlisted Jokes will then be put to an anonymous public vote by 2,000 UK representative British adults via the survey company 3Gem between the 3rd November and 5th November 2021. The highest-rated 10 Jokes will win. Any entries received outside of this Competition Period (for whatever reason) will be invalid. The decision by UKTV is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

5. PRIZE:

There will be 10 prize winners (the "Winners").

The first Winner to be selected will receive the following:

i) £1,500 worth of experience vouchers from Trailfinders;

ii) 1 x festive hamper; and

iii) a bespoke set of Christmas crackers which will include the six highest voted Jokes,

(the "First Prize").

The 9 runners up will all receive 1 x festive hamper and a bespoke set of Christmas crackers which will include the six highest voted Jokes (the "Second Prize").

The First Prize and the Second Prize are together the "Prize".

The Winners will be awarded at our discretion and no prizes will be awarded as a result of improper actions by or on behalf of an entrant. No alternative prize will be given and the prize is non-transferable & non-exchangeable.

However, we reserve the right to change the Prize due to circumstances beyond our control or to offer an alternative of similar value. Nothing in these terms and conditions in any way limits UKTV's (or any other person or organisation's) liability for fraud, or death or personal injury caused by negligence. It is your responsibility and to assess whether the Prize is suitable for you and to read any instructions or manuals associated with the Prize.

Entrants will be notified via direct message on Twitter that they have won, the Twitter message will instruct the Winner how to redeem their Prize. The Winner of the First Prize will receive a direct Twitter message on the 29th November 2021, the Winners of the runners up prizes will receive a direct Twitter message on the 29th November 2021 (the "Prize Message").

The Winners should respond by 18.00 on the 4th December 2021 to the Prize Message. Failure to respond to the Prize Message within the timeline stipulated may result in the Prize being forfeited and an alternate Winner being selected. Entrants must follow the Gold Twitter page to be able to receive the Prize. We won't be liable if any Prize fails to reach you or you cannot receive it for reasons beyond our control.

Winners may also be publicly announced on the Gold Twitter page in accordance with clause 7 below.

The Winner of the First Prize must adhere to Trailfinders terms and conditions (which can be found at http://www.trailfinders.com/generalbookingconditions), rules and regulations.

Winners must supply ID when they claim a prize. This can be in the form of a photo of a Passport or Driving license.

The competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Trailfinders.

6. METHOD OF ENTRY:

Entry is free of charge via Twitter at @Goldchannel. All entrants must have the Internet service or mobile device bill payer's permission prior to entering.

7. PUBLICITY AND DATA PROTECTION:

Entry to the Competition gives UKTV the right, without separate consent or compensation, to publicise any Winners' names and counties and to make further use of these in printed publications and on the internet solely for administering this Competition in accordance with applicable law.

Entry to the Competition gives UKTV the right, without separate consent or compensation, to use each winning Joke on all UKTV platforms. This includes use of each winning Joke on the UKTV Gold on-air ad-breaks as well as use across other UKTV channels, UKTV websites, UKTV's social media accounts and UKTV Play.

Each Winner will be required to provide their contact details (including their name, date of birth and address) to UKTV or the Prize Provider so that the Winner can receive their Prize. The Winner's personal details will only be used by UKTV and the Prize Provider for the purpose of administration of this Competition. Further information about how your personal details will be handled can be found in Schedule 1 (Privacy Notice), UKTV's Privacy Policy and the Prize Provider's Privacy Policy.

8. PROMOTER

These competitions are offered to you by UKTV Media Limited ("UKTV"). Our registered office is at 10 Hammersmith Grove, London, W6 7AP and our company registration number is 04266373.

By entering this Competition you are submitting your details to UKTV and not to Twitter, Inc. This Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by Twitter, Inc.

9. PRIZE PROVIDER

Taylor Herring Limited of 1st Floor 2 Television Centre, 101 Wood Lane, London, England And Wales, United Kingdom, England, W12 7FR, company registration number: 05361673 (the "Prize Provider") shall fulfil delivery of each of the Prizes.

10. GOVERNING LAW:

These terms and conditions shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

SCHEDULE 1 - PRIVACY NOTICE

To enter the Competition you have provided UKTV with your Twitter handle details and the selected Winners of the Competition will be asked to provide their name, date of birth (including the supply of ID) and postal address details. UKTV is the "data controller" of this information.

UKTV will process your personal data to administer the Competition. We process personal data on the basis of our legitimate interests to engage with audiences and to promote our brands. We protect your information in many different ways. These include staff training, investing in technology and following strict handling and storing procedures.

If you are one of the Winners, the personal details you provide in response to the Prize Message (including your name, date of birth and address) will be transferred to the Prize Provider, who will provide the Prizes and these details will be deleted once the Prizes have been fulfilled.

Data protection law gives you certain rights in relation to your personal data, including the right to request from the controller access to and rectification or erasure of your personal data or restriction of processing, and the right to object to processing.
