It becomes a bit of a competition and the two try and find out who he'd prefer to take to dinner? if he had to choose one of them. Under strict instructions that she doesn't embarrass her, Tilly has invited Miranda to Henley Regatta. Miranda is determined to be able to cope at a refined and elegant social occasion just once. Her old friend Gary seems to be the only person who believes Miranda should just be herself. It turns out that Gary has been offered a new job in Hong Kong, it looks like he is waiting for someone to persuade him to stay? but will Miranda take the hint? Episode 5 - Excuse Miranda's mother spends most of her life trying to sort out Miranda's love life... and Miranda spends most of her life trying to avoid being set up by her mother. Old school pal Tilly organises a blind date for Miranda with Dreamboat Charlie, a doctor friend who's in the army. The date doesn't quite go to plan and Penny throws a party in the hope of introducing Miranda to a suitable man. Miranda's intended date is so bad, and she is notoriously bad at coming up with excuses that she comes out with the only option left... exploding out of the closet in a vain attempt to stop her Mother's matchmaking. Episode 4 - Holiday Miranda is under no illusion, she is not exactly cool. But she's young, free and single and that has its advantages, like escaping to Thailand on holiday for a few days. But when it comes to the crunch, she's really not that bothered and crossing the road to book herself into the local hotel is quite far enough. She has a whale of a time, even making some new friends. With each day of her stay she finds herself transforming into a new woman. Episode 3 - Job Penny, Miranda's mother, is constantly disappointed that Miranda doesn't have a proper job and runs a joke shop. Penny bumps into one of Miranda's old school friends, Tilly, and brags that Miranda has a great new job... which she doesn't. Miranda decides to prove everyone wrong and take a new career path. Tilly spots Miranda when she is helping out as a waitress and Miranda decides to come clean and stand up as a proud joke shop manager. But thanks to Gary, Tilly makes a surprising conclusion about Miranda's job. Episode 2 - Teacher Miranda is awfully British when it comes to shenanigans (sex). She decides the best way forward with Gary would be to create a romantic moment so he'll see her in that way. Miranda joins an evening class to learn the language of love, French. She soon discovers it's run by her old school teacher Mr Clayton. Stevie starts dating Mr Clayton, to Miranda's disgust. Miranda has a brainwave and thinks a tango class might be more romantic for her and Gary... but it doesn't quite go to plan. Episode 1 - Date Miranda bumps into her old friend Gary, the new chef in the restaurant next door. He asks her out for a drink and she gets all worked up by the prospect of her first real date and makes a concerted effort to be more feminine.
